Leased Lines | Reliable Business Broadband
Secure connections and dedicated bandwidth
A leased line is a dedicated, fixed-bandwidth internet or data connection that provides a private and continuous link between two locations, such as a business site and a data centre or between multiple office branches. Unlike traditional broadband, which is shared among multiple users, a leased line offers uncontended, symmetrical speeds, ensuring consistent performance for critical applications like VoIP, video conferencing, cloud computing, and large-scale data transfers.
Businesses rely on leased lines for their high reliability, low latency, and guaranteed uptime, often backed by Service Level Agreements (SLAs) from providers. Although typically more expensive than standard broadband, leased lines offer superior security, performance, and scalability, making them essential for enterprises that require stable and high-speed connectivity.

What is a leased line?
A leased line is a dedicated fixed-bandwidth data connection. The word ‘leased’ refers to the connection rented by the Internet Service Provider directly to a business. A leased line needs to be symmetrical, uncontended and point to point.
Is the leased line managed?
Our leased lines are fully managed, proactively monitored for availability, utilisation and latency and supplied complete with Managed Router.
What are the advantages of leased lines?
Leased lines have many advantages for businesses. The main advantage is high symmetric speeds, meaning better connectivity and faster uploads and downloads. Leased lines are also very reliable and flexible. When you set up a leased line, you receive strong customer support and setup alongside 24/7 support from our Leeds based expert team.
What are the disadvantages of leased lines?
A disadvantage of a leased line is that they can take a while to set up and install. The costs can also be higher than alternative services.
How fast is a leased line connection?
Leased lines start from around 10Mbps connections and scale all the way up to 100Gbps. Common speeds are 1Gbs and 10Gbs although 25Gbs and 40Gbs are becoming more common for demanding users or shared building space. Speak to our team for a quotation
What’s the difference between a leased line and broadband?
A leased line is a dedicated, uncontended connection between your premises and the local exchange. It’s only used by your business. Broadband isn’t a dedicated connection and is shared with other people.
Can I increase my leased line speeds in the future?
Once your leased line is installed, you might want to increase your speed if circumstances call for it. Provided you have space on the bearer line, you can increase your speed with no hardware changes. If you've reached the limit of the bearer, we can upgrade the bearer from 1Gbs to 10Gbs or 25Gbs within five working days.
Fibre Lite | Gpon
Faster and more reliable internet connectivity
GPON is a high-speed fibre-optic technology used to deliver broadband internet, voice, and video services to homes and businesses. GPON uses passive optical components, which means there are no active electronics between the central office and the end users, allowing for lower operational costs and increased reliability. It offers core network speeds of up to 2.5 Gbps downstream and 1.25 Gbps upstream, making it ideal for supporting demanding services like ultra-high-definition video streaming, online gaming, and business applications. Its efficient design allows for the sharing of fibre-optic infrastructure between multiple users, making it a cost-effective solution for delivering high-speed internet to large areas.

How is Fibre Lite FTTP connected to my premises?
FTTP works by connecting fibre-optic cables directly to your property, meaning you’re plugged straight in with super-fast speeds from the start. As fibre-optic cables will need to be installed, our technicians survey your property and surrounding area to work out the best route for the cables. Once that’s established, the installation process happens in two stages. Firstly, we’ll install a Customer Service Point (CSP) box on the exterior of your property. This connects you to the fibre optic network, which is either installed underground or on a nearby telegraph pole. We’ll then install an Optical Network Termination (ONT) modem in your property. This acts as your router or hub, connecting you to the FTTP network. Our technicians will then connect and test your FTTP connection to ensure you’re getting the highest quality speeds.
What speed will I get with Fibre Lite FTTP?
One of the main advantages to FTTP broadband is its lightning-fast speeds.
Fibre Lite uses fibre-optic cables that operate at the speed of light. That means in the blink of an eye, you’ll get speeds of up to 1Gbps or 1000Mbs.
Fibre Lite offers symmetrical speeds, identical upload and download.
Fibre Lite doesn’t just make your internet use almost instantaneous, it provides a wide range of benefits including:
Use multiple devices at one time, download large work files in seconds and take part in video calls without any interruptions or lagging.
Gaming: There will be virtually no latency when you’re playing online multiplayer games.
Entertainment: A Fibre Lite connection is ideal for streaming content, especially on data-heavy 4K TVs.
Future-ready: Secure Fibre Lite broadband future-proofs your internet connection, meaning you’re prepared for the digital landscape of tomorrow.
Can I upgrade Fibre Lite FTTP?
Speed upgrades within the Fibre Lite package are possible same day.
Our fibre Internet service offers upgrades from Fibre Lite to Fibre Pro within five working days, swapping the hardware within your premises only.
No further external works are required.

Dark Fibre | Unlimited network solutions
Unlimited fibre broadband services
Dark fibre broadband refers to unused optical fiber infrastructure that organisations can lease or purchase to create their own private high-speed networks. Unlike traditional broadband services, where bandwidth is managed by an internet provider, dark fibre gives businesses full control over their network capacity, security, and performance. This makes it ideal for large enterprises, data centers, ISPs, and financial institutions that require ultra-fast, low-latency connectivity for big data transfers, cloud computing, and high-frequency trading. Since dark fibre is not shared with other users, it offers uncontended speeds and can be easily scaled by upgrading the equipment that transmits data. Dark fibre provides a future-proof solution for organisations needing maximum bandwidth and reliability.

What is an Ethernet Extension?
An Ethernet Extension is an unswitched/unrouted direct managed fibre service. You can liken it to the uplink port between your office switches, except across sites, not racks. If you'd like the simplest way to bridge two office LANs together, as if one office, Ethernet Extension is the product for you. Fully managed for your peace of mind, with optional resilient and diverse routes for the ultimate in uptime.
What is Dark Fibre?
Dark Fibre is an optical fibre path between two sites that is unlit and unmanaged. You choose which electronics you want to use to light up the fibre and keep full control of the network end to end from service protocols to bandwidth enabling virtually unlimited capacity expansion and scalability.
With Dark Fibre you can:
Build a fully protected resilient ring connected to your head end
Serve multiple customers with different network architectures
