How does EFM work?

EFM (Ethernet First Mile) is cutting edge technology which is delivered over BT's 21st Century Network and is primarily aimed at those organisations that would benefit from a leased line type service without the associated costs. Unlike traditional UK leased line providers or Ethernet line services which uses fibre to connect you to your local exchange, CCS Leeds EFM uses bundles of copper pairs which results lower costs and high resilience with a faster installation time. The service is constantly monitored 24 hours a day, seven days a week by both our own Network Operations Team and the access circuit provider to ensure it is available to you when you need it. Real-Time On-Line reporting via our portal is also provided showing service availability, latency and Utilisation providing confidence in the service and allowing future forecasts to be made. In the unlikely event that the service should fail, automated reporting ensures that you are informed in real time of the progress by either SMS, email or a voice call.

As UK leased line providers, CCS will provide you with a managed Cisco Router and deliver the service to you as Ethernet to connect directly into your firewall or LAN.
